Elie Wiesel's life during the Holocaust.
The Wiesel family were sent to Auschwitz in 1944. They were sent in cattle cars filled with other terrified Jews. Once they got to Auschwitz, the men were separated from the women and children. All of the prisoners who were unable to work (Elderly, babies, sick, etc.) Were immediately killed. Elie and his father were separated from from Elie's mother and three sisters. His mother, Sarah, and younger sister, Tzipora, were killed in the gas chambers.
His father and him were sent to a different part of the camp. They were sent to work. Soon, they were transported to Buchenwald. Elie got an infection in the foot which caused him to have to get surgery and be hospitalized. Right after he got out from the hospital the Red Army tried to come and Liberate Buchenwald. Elie, his father, and mainly every other prisoner were forced to leave and go to a new Camp. On the way to the new Camp Elie's father passed away. Elie and the rest of the surviving prisoners were Liberated a few days after the death of Elie's father.
